Help with case law on highway tripping claim

Hi - does anyone know any case law that says an individual is not expected to scan the ground for defects. I have heard mention of it, but have not been successful finding it. I have a defendant who is alleging contrib at 20% as claimant should have been looking where she was going!

Have you tried contacting a personal injury company? They might be able to shed some light on this case law and whether or not it exists?
