Refused reference copies

Postby soapy » Wed Jul 01, 2009 6:03 pm

Hi there i did apply for the job last year on July and I was called for interview and I did well in the in the interview. But the application was rejected. I wrote 3 letters to the employer asking what was the reasons and requested copies of the references. But the employer phone me and told me one of the references was not satisfactory and refused to send me the copies of the references. Is there any advice where I can get copies of the reference.

Thank you whoever read this

The references will usually be from your previous emplyoyers, university or friends. When you gave your new potential employer your cv you will usually have included information about the types of refernces he could use. I would suggest checking your cv and contacting the appropriate bodies to see who provided the referneces. The current potential employer doesn't have to provide you with the references that he/she contacted, but you could always write to them and see if they respond to save you time ringing every one on your cv.
